Brooks,
Congratulations on your new boat and welcome to the list.  As pointed out, the angle of the ramp will be the determining factor on using the extender.  The ramp I use was built more for bass and pontoon boats, so I have to use the extender.  Even then, I have the tailpipe under water when I launch.  Let us know how it goes. - rob

Thanks to all of you for the great feedback. I'll definitely try w/o extender first.

And Shawn, thanks so much for the link to pictures. I'll study them some more before I take off - in fact I think I'll bring laptop along with pics up so I can check just in case.
