Scott, I’ve enjoyed the 130. Better forward visibility, easier to come about in light air. Now that I have the 130 on I’m not sure when I’ll go back to the 175.

Good luck. No wrong answer.

I have the 175, but I think I'd rather have the 130; the big sail is a lot to manage in light winds. True, it picks up a lot of wind, but when reefed, you miss the upper wind, because the top of the sail is wrapped around the furling tube. There are ways to defeat the awkward nature of coming about in light winds: furling in half way to get the sail off the deck and shorten the sheets. Then, you'd redeploy the full genny once the sail is past your mid line.

Really, despite the benefits or detractors of one sail or the other, you'll be sailing your beautiful, sassy, eye catching and responsive R-22. Who cares about the sail? They both work.

I am primarily lake sailing with 6-13 knot winds the majority of the time in our newly acquired "recycled" 2011 22". I have three girls that love to lay up on the bow and enjoy the sun. Please let the comments fly... To date, i have only run the !75... the girls have a hard time laying under it. Stan is sending me the 130 and i am going to have to make a decision soon.
