Bob:
I look forward to seeing your posts.
I never thought of using construction adhesive. I wonder to what extent the
floor frame pieces are an essential part of the boat's structure or are they
just a platform for the floor boards. If they are intended to give the hull
rigidity, and I suspect they are, then I think I would go with the epoxy
and glass. Does anyone know the answer to that question?

Sure thing Graham. I will post pics and keep everyone updated. I welcome
lots of advice but am a brave (if not foolish) do it yourselfer.
I once rebuild the stringers in a similar boat and bedded the pressure
treated pine stringers in polyurethane construction adhesive. (Moisture cure
stuff from home depot) I sailed the boat hard for years, had it fill up with
water once for a month. When i sold it i got down in there to inspect and
the job looked brand new and the adhesive was still perfectly holding the
stringers to the hull.
I would say epoxy would be a much better choice and a few layers of
fiberglass cloth and resin even better.
