Hi Chris,  I agree with Richard's comments.  Having trailered sailboats quite a bit, including the trip with our Rhodes from Minneapolis to upstate NY I might add a few more things.  We have a foam block that sits between the tabernacle base on the cabin top and the mast.  I then use a strap between the hand rails and around the mast to stabilize the mid section of the mast.  I  secure the outboard and rudder blade to the rear of the boat too.  Although the double axle trailer tracks nicely and has brakes, allow for increased stopping distances.  Your trip should be fine with your SUV. Regards,Don SimonsIthaca,NY

Hi Chris....glad to see you're getting Opus back on the water. I am sure
the guys at the yard will pack and secure the boat for you, but I would
leave the O/B on the transom. Just make sure the bracket is secured in the
up position and lock it if you're over-nighting anywhere.

I use tie-downs so you may want to pick-up some of these before going to
Endenton - Habor Freight Tools have some reasonably priced ones. I know
it's obvious, but always be aware of the extra length and height clearance
of the trailer.

Have a great trip
