Thanks. It indeed sounds like the vent is not working correctly. I know I
have it open, but something must be wrong with it. I'll loosen the cap and
try that. I assumed the pressure buildup was from temperature changes to the
gas. We've had some hot days and cold nights. But still seemed like the vent
should release any of that pressure. I also appreciate your suggestions for
the primer bulb. I'm a musician, not a mechanic, so these things are foreign
to me. I love sailing, but I hate engines -- a necessary evil for navigating
the marina and getting across the barge channel.
