Sounds great Peter.  You’ve certainly got some great sailing destinations within a couple of hours of driving.  There used to be a launch ramp at the local marina on Ninigret Pond in Charlestown, RI.  You need to watch the tides getting in/out of the breachway from Ninigret Pond to Block Island Sound, but it’s great water once you’re out and beautiful high tide / shoal keel sailing in the pond.  I would think the marina owner would let you park for a few days.  

Yes, we’re in Old Greenwich, moored in Greenwich Cove on a town mooring.  Aspiring to sail your way.
