Hello Rhodies,
I am planning a long trip this summer and will probably be soliciting a lot
of advice. This is the first. Typically each summer I drive my family
from Denver to the East Coast and leave them with family or by a beach
somewhere while I fly home to work a week or two, then I go back and get
them. This year I am going to take an extended vacation and stay gone
about 4 weeks. Going to hit Virginia Beach, OBX (Stan's neighborhood), and
Chincoteague. So I am planning to tow the Rhodes and have it available to
get on the water for short day sails and a little exploring.

I had always planned to remove my motor from the boat for long trips,
however I had planned to just wrestle my oversized electric start Honda 9.9
x-long shaft (110 lbs) into the back of a pickup truck. In this case I
will be towing with an SUV so that is not an option. I can't really
just lift it into the cockpit. The question - does anyone have any neat
tricks maybe using a halyard or topping lift/boom/mainsheet to lift a motor
into the cockpit/cabin for travel?

I will have a stabilizing hitch, towing with a pathfinder, so leaving it
tightly strapped to the transom may be OK too.
