Hi Chris - If you really want the tires to last it is best to jack-up the trailer and remove the wheels and store them in your garage, but this is a little over-kill. The freezing weather is what does the damage so covers should be sufficient.

Trailer tires are about $80 a pop so it is worth looking after them. I have just replaced all my tires at about 18,000 miles, but the they would have lasted longer if I had watched the uneven wear a little closer.
