Tex,

Sorry to be slow to join this thread, I’ve been out for a week-long sail in the Cape Cod area.

I’ve got a video about making a new floor for my Rhodes 22 on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VywOqYXqzYg&frags=pl%2Cwn

Sorry that it’s so long, feel free to fast forward over parts that don’t interest you.

No two Rhodes 22’s are identical, so pictures, or even measurements from other Rhodes owners will only get you so far. In my case (and I suspect many others), the size of the bilge access hatch is larger than the space between the stringers. This is because the hatch itself is supported by the stringers when it’s in place.

If you knew somehow exactly where the stringers were, and cut out the hatch in the space between them, how would the hatch be supported?

I feel I’m not being very clear here, but I think you’re going to have to take the floor out of the boat to do the job.
