[Rhodes22-list] Water in the cabin

Thanks, that gives me a few things to explore. The cockpit drain tubes didn’t look pristine so definitely worth looking at. I didn’t see any dampness in the carpet on the side of the cabin, though, so I think the ports are good so far.

One thing I noticed was water on the “ceiling” of the cabin (there must be a fancy name for that!) but I suspect that was condensation: we had a sunny day that must have heated the deck and cabin top, while the water in the bilge was cold (there was even some ice in there). I’m not excluding leaks from chain plates or other hardware but what I saw was widespread, so hopefully just condensation.

Whenever we had water in the bilge it was almost always from leaking
ports. The water ran down behind the settee cushions. In some cases the
cushions didn't get wet but we could feel the dampness on the carpet
glued to the hull. The only solution was rebedding the ports which was a
pain in the neck but worth it for the dry bilge. There are however other
sources of water. A crack in the cockpit drain tubes could allow water
in the area around the lazarette which could work its way forward if you
are bow down. There could also be leaks around stanchions and
chainplates. You might try selectively tarping parts of the boat to
narrow down the area that is leaking.

Best of luck,

I removed the settee and its support to inspect a bit more: the foam that sits underneath the cockpit was wet.
