Rick,

Sorry to hear that the UPS hasn’t worked out for you.  By ‘crowds out’, I assume you mean that the reefed 175 creates a roll that’s big enough to interfere with the deployment of the UPS.  

My thought was to replace the 175 with a smaller genoa, and generally use the UPS in light air and the genoa in heavy.  Using both wing-on-wing downwind sounds like fun too.

Since you rarely use your UPS, would you be interested in selling it?
