Hey everyone, just noticed this thread.
Yes, it’s my Rhodes 22 and as of this posting, it’s up and being towed to
the local marina for inspection and repair.
The boat has been in excellent condition.
The people who towed it said that the mast was stuck under the mushroom
anchor’s chain!?
It had been raining a lot. I’m wondering if debris occluded the cockpit
drain and if having the dropped keel in the upright position reduced its
ability to right itself.
Although the companionway hatch was closed, I’m also wondering if it
shifted, thus flooding the cabin.
As far as I know, there were no holes punched into the hull.
All this is conjecture so far, other than the mast stuck under water and
released by raising the mushroom.
Credit to White Hudson River Marina.
This morning was low tide, slight wind, no rain, river as smooth as a lake.
Outside temperature around 80 degrees. Couldn’t ask for better conditions
to correct a listing vessel.
At this point I’m worried about electronics. The batteries were replaced
last year, and the radio replaced this Spring. The engine is electrical
push button start without a choke. And so on.
Anyway, I’ll keep you all posted.
Thanks for your interest.
