I got the poptop when I bought my '86 in 03. Wouldn't dream of
overnighting with out it. If you have bugs or it rains in your neck of the
woods, its a must. It does a very good job of keeping the inside dry. It
does cut down on ventilation, but it keeps the dew on the outside of the
cabin. I use it with the bimini, so I can go out the door in a rain storm
and roll down the side windows and leave the back window open and still
not get wet. Getting stuck at anchor in the rain is a whole lot nicer with
standing headroom. I'm on a small well protected lake, on calm nights, I
anchor from the rear, and use the bimini as a air scoop. I also run the
rode around the outside of the rigging to the front cleat, so if it gets
snarky, I undo the rode at the stern cleat and let the boat swing around
to weather. I highly recommend both the bimini and the poptop.

I am considering a "pop top enclosure". I am looking for information and
