[Rhodes22-list] Traveling with Motor on Lift

I trailer sail my Rhodes and agree pulling a heavy outboard (8hp Yamaha in
my case) is a PITA. I tried tying it to the stern rail, but the torque from
the trailer bouncing the motor around twisted the guides inside the
aluminum rails. The lift was so bound up I had to put considerable weight
on it by pushing down to get it to lower. I disassembled the lift and
realigned everything to get it to work properly again. The best method I’ve
found so far is to secure a couple 2” C-clamps to the aluminum channel just
below either side of lift after I’ve raised it It holds the motor securely
and balances the weight.
