Easy to check. Unhook both cables from one of the battery. Hook up the
leads of a dc volt meter to the detached cables. Cover one solar panel at
a time and see which one drops the voltage.If the voltage didn't drop,
take the cables off the other battery and do the voltage test.  You can
check the condition of the solar panels, the voltage of the panels when
getting the same amount sun, should be close to the same.
