Chris, thanks for posting this. It's helpful to see the organization system
resulting from the experience of your many trips on the Rhodes over the
years. I've made it through most of your travelogues (just have the 2016
Mexico trip to go) and had wondered how you packed all the necessary gear.
Thanks for putting the planning details and lists in the Baja trip in
particular. Thanks for capturing these adventures in words and photos so we
can enjoy them as well. I'm inspired to start some of my own adventures in
road trips next summer. These will seem like small potatoes compared to the
trips that you and others have made, but I have to start somewhere.

In the attachment, you mentioned how you had to raise the water line which I
can understand. Do you have issues with water pushing up through the
cockpit drain when you're loaded heavily? If I get a few passengers on
board, even if I move them forward in the cockpit, I get some water that
comes back up through the cockpit drain. It's not a lot of water and it
stops taking on water when it has reached some sort of equilibrium. When
passengers step off the boat, the stern raises and the water drains. The
former owner had a plug that could go in this drain, but it tends to pop out
after I put it in. If I was loaded very heavy like your boat, I think this
could become more of an issue to be dealt with instead of a minor nuisance.
Perhaps I just need some more weight in the bow as a counter balance. Has
anyone else experienced this and if so, do you have any suggestions? Thanks
in advance for any input.
