I know this must sound crazy to those on the coast, but I might make it down
to Kansas (perhaps not quite a sailing mecca) sometime on some road trips to
larger lakes in the midwest that are not too far of a drive.  Home for
Zephyr is Lake Manawa which is quite small... let's just say that you get
plenty of practice tacking and jibing.

Such is life when you are a WAFI residing in Omaha, Nebraska.  I had heard
that Perry Lake and Milford Lake in Kansas are pretty nice as far as
reservoirs on the prairie go.  I guess I can add on the "Tuddle Puddle" on
to the list.  Feel free to share if you have any recommendations for good
size lakes in the midwest.
