Mike:

Below is a link to the rubber sheet warehouse store where I believe we purchased neoprene for the centerboard cap repair.

Amazon.com: Neoprene Rubber Sheet, Rolls, Strips 3/16" (.187") Thick x 8" Wide x 10" Long Solid Rubber : Industrial & Scientific<https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016C5GMDK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1>

Please note that I spent a number of years setting up a boat repair and restoration facility in Maryland that included re-establishing relationships with various boat suppliers for trailers, rigging, sails, hardware, and other items however after a few years of operation I ended this service due to threats and feedback I received from the Rhodes community. Perhaps I will re-visit this service again in the future in a more friendly environment.

Mike McKay,

The last time that I needed to replace a centerboard trunk gasket, about 12 years ago on my original 1981, I used:

MSC Direct P/N:83039842
Neoprene Rubber Thickness: 3/16 Width: 6 Length: 60 Durometer: 40 Color: Black

See the original email thread at:
http://www.rhodes22.org/pipermail/rhodes22-list/2011-January/067570.html

It worked very well.

Mike,

My existing gasket is 7.25 x 54.25. I didn't examine the possibility of using narrower material--is that what you used?

Thanks,

Mike

Currently none of the rubber sheeting on Amazon or McMaster-Carr are the right size for the gasket. Has anyone found another option? Stan is incommunicado recently.

Sorry, that’s not the one I used. If you look that up on Amazon they come in a wide variety of sizes and thickness. I listed that so you could get the brand name.
