[Rhodes22-list] Sunken boat

So the roller is not the problem in ordinary use: that leaves us with dropped on the roller, or, lowered onto the roller first at too much of an angle such that it was momentarily supporting most of the boat.  And must have happened after painting as you said. I agree it's not lifting strap placement.  Must have made an audible cracking noise, so someone knows.  Larry

I got the trailer from Triad with the roller.

> Every year I paint and launch my boat.  Never had a leak ( other that a thru hull that needed  to be replaced).  This year my wife was ill and required my attention so I brought boat to a boatyard for painting, starting up engine and launching.  After waiting  several weeks they finally told me it was launched.  I got a call a few days later that it had partially sunk. I have no idea what they did but my boat and batteries were submerged and ruined. This is picture of the hull in front of keel with a crack that obviously occurred after they painted it.  They are claiming it was a pre existing condition but I know she was seaworthy last season and I would have noticed this when I power washed bottom. I'm thinking they either bounced it in ground or strapped wrong.  Has anyone else ever had a similar incident?
