   What are your recommendations for a product which will do the job?>

There are several liquid products which are advertised to remove water line
stains.  They do an excellent job (fast, no rubbing) of whitening the hull.
However in my experience the stain or yellowing will soon return.  I believe
it's because the gel coat surface is porous.  You can delay the return of
the staining by waxing the cleaned hull with a good paste wax.
