Mary,

Great information, but I still would like the measurements of a
working UPS and asymmetrical spinnaker for a Rhodes22 with an IMF.

I like Tom's reasoning for using an UPS. The ability to tack is
very attractive. With a spinnaker, for me, changing sail direction is a
major project. And my Admiral leaves changing sails and sail
adjustments to me.

However, I might use the ups with a chute rather than rope luff.
And if I saw a lightweight sail with appropriate measurements for sale
on the used market, I might get it to try if first. The next time that
I have my mast down, I will probably put on a restrainer like Tom's. I
figure with Tom's restrainer and deck mount that you can also fly a
storm jib.

Tom's Restrainer
