Slim,

I don’t think “Git-rot” it the best thing to use to repair your tiller handle. Git-rot is a two-part epoxy that is injected into 1/4" holes which you have drilled into the wood. I used it to strengthen a stringer until I can replace it this spring when the weather warms up. Git-rot is used to strengthen rotted or dry rotted wood. It can be used for repairs to wood encased in fiberglass like stringers, transoms, and decks. IMO it is for temporary repairs or where a more permanent fix is either too involved or too costly.

The box reads:

A two-part epoxy that is designed to fully penetrate and saturate and consolidate dry rotted wood. It consolidates, fills in, and restores structural strength to any rotted wood, regardless of its condition. When cured, the treated area can be sanded and painted over. Cures to a solid wood like mass that like wood retains a slight degree of flexibility. You can even combine it with sawdust to produce wood putty.

……Not intended to be painted onto surface….Must be injected into wood to assure a full cure
