Doug,

At 975 watts max, I would go for the 2000. Athough, you could probably get 
by with a 1000 if you by-passed the trailer inverter and charged you 
battery directly off the genset if it want to kick out the breaker. My 1000 
does have connections for 12 volt charging, directly off the genset.
