[Rhodes22-list] New Nuclear Energy Ideas

Last week, I was working with a business acquaintance and old friend. He is an electrical engineer by trade as well as a physicist by education. I asked him his opinions of the future of energy in this country. He stated that he believed that the future included the use of nuclear energy created through the process of fusion rather than fission. He went on to state that this process creates more energy with less fuel while leaving absolutely no waste. That's right, when the fuel is used up, it's completely gone. He's aware that the technology may not yet be here to harness energy through that process, but he believes we are not far off. Remember, this was a discussion about the future, not today.

Now before everyone rushes to bite my head off, keep in mind we are just trying to think creatively and hypothetically here. I'm not trying to promote anything. I'm just trying to see what some of the great minds on this list think about this idea. OK, everyone jump in at will.
