[Rhodes22-list] 2-cycles still made?

A couple of comments on the outboard debate. Bill may only use 10
gallons of gas a year but that may have something to do with the
winds on LIS. On the Chesapeake if you only went out overnight when
you were sure of having good winds both days you'd rarely go out.
More often than not when we go out for the weekend, we'll have a good
sail one day and a long motor back in no wind the next. We chose a
Honda 4-stroke 8 hp in 1998 because environmentally it made sense and
because it is quiet. The motor has been mostly reliable - when it
runs it runs but there have been a few times at the beginning of the
season when we have had to do a bit of extra work due to water
circulation issues. It is a great when we get caught with no wind on
a Sunday morning 25 miles from home and have to motor back. It's also
been great when the wind is on the nose with 2 - 3 ft seas and you
have to get home.
