Solar panel wiring
It would seem to me that if you put a cigarette lighter plug (like we have for cabin bulkhead light) on the end of your solar panel wires, and plug this in to the 12V receptacle on the divider below the counter top, you could back feed power to your battery using existing wiring under starboard cockpit seat to charge your battery? We have our battery firm-mounted in lazarette, port side so closer cable run to electric start outboard as per Stan's advice in '83. Has anyone used this set up on older models? We need more amps in marine battery now that we're using a 12 volt refrig.-food warmer unit under the sink . Thanks for your response!!

  Hank,
I've got an 11 watt flexible panel that I leave on top of the pop top slide.
I've been meaning to mount it for years but never got around to it. When I
raise the pop top, the cord runs along the pop top support. I'm just a day
sailor that only runs lights and this has been more than adequate. - rob
