Ben,
VT had mandatory Corp of Cadets (somewhat similar to ROTC) until the
late 60's I believe.  Now it's optional, but there is still a group of
around 700 cadets.  The only two military schools that I can think of
that are not service branch related are The Citadel and the Virginia
Military Institute (VMI).  Don't know if those are considered formal
ROTC. - rob

Yeah, but the point is, I don't mind at all if a university requires
ROTC.
It actually wasn't that long ago that my beloved LSU required it for all
men.  It ceased being mandatory before my day, but that only ended in
the
late 70s or 80s, I think.

Just out of curiosity, are there still public universities that require
ROTC?
