Good year, 1948.  My airplane was built in JAN 1948, serial number
1266, meaning they built almost 1200 just like her in 1947. I've got
the original bill of sale - slightly less than ten grand.  She's still
built - the design basically unchanged.  Last year they almost built
50, costing near a million dollars apiece (very little change in
engineering but a whole lot more trial lawyers involved in the
