[Rhodes22-list] A look back at summer

Brad,

thanks for the pict comment.....

That is a trumpet vine...which will grow just about anywhere & do just what you want. It's pretty to look at, and also draws hummingbirds.

There is also a variety of honeysuckle with mulit-colored flowers rather the ordinary yellow with which we are all familiar....that would also do the trick & hummingbirds also like it. Also a fast & prolific grower.

Both plants will do well in hot, dry environments....as they are essentially weeds.....although you'd best plant them in the ground & run some string or wire for the vines to follow up........they will need some moisture; they'll cook in pots in the roof unless they get watered or rained upon....Once they get a hold on the roof you'll be seeing them in your office......(my plants are survival of the fittest....if theycan't manage without me, they're outta here...)

If you plant several of these early......Feb or so if you're in the temperate area..they'll be well on the way to covering the side by summer.

let me know how it works.

We can't change the angle of the wind....but we can adjust our sails.
