I spent the afternoon out on the water with my new battened, IMF main which
I purchased from GBI.  I have to say that I was skeptical at first that one
little old batten,especially a vertical one could make a difference.  I am a
skeptic no longer.  Not as effective as a vang of course, but limiting the
twist off is a marked improvement over the old style and a little more roach
in the back doesn't hurt anything either.  In light winds with the 175, my
boat has some lee helm.  Everyone who has sailed it has commented on that.
 Maybe it's new sail euphoria, but I didn't notice it today and to make the
fantasy complete, I think I was pointing better by a few degrees upwind too.
