[Rhodes22-list] Vberth Ventilation

Art,

I presume your head is just below the fan opening and your berth extension
extends over the head. That would be a problem for me because my wife
usually uses the head at night.

I've never had a problem with v-berth ventilation in my '93 model. I have a
rubber pipe cowl with screen for the anchor chain locker that I can position
to catch the land breeze at night. The front ports are screened and open
and I have eyebrow covers for them (anyone know where to get uniform battens
for the eyebrows?), so when the boat swings toward the land breeze, they
capture it. All this is pretty much rain proof as well.

For dry nights, the head has a large hatch that is easily screened from
inside. When there is no breeze, I raise the pop top and put the screening
up.

Nevertheless, the v-berth is cramped for a six footer. When alone, I sleep
on the settee, using the table to widen it.
