Art,

I've been using Avast Home Edition (free)
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html for about a year now and
have found that it has performed better than Norton and interferes with the
PC less when compared to my other PC, which is still on Norton. The reviews
have been excellent and it updates daily for absolutely no cost. The only
product that may out perform it is Kaspersky according to the reviews. When
my Norton subscription ends, the other PC is going to Avast.
