[Rhodes22-list] Hit by a car, can my rhodes be saved?

Alex,

 Sorry to see what has happened to your boat. I'm more sorry to say the
insurance bastards will probably screw you to the wall and give you next to
nothing citing the age of the boat for their excuse.
Also because of the age stan may or may not even give you the time of day as
he is not usually inclined to do anything for the owners of older rhodes
especially if he has not received his 5% homage. That being said it is my
humble opinion that the damage is repairable if you have the time and skill
and tools to do the job. Those tools and skills would include the ability to
separate the hull from the deck at the rub rail (there is a joint there)
removing the deck and cockpit and working from the inside of the hull
rebuilding everything as you go then putting it all back together. Quite a
project but doable. Might be cheaper to find another boat. I wish you the
best of luck and hope all works out in the end.
