[Rhodes22-list] Hit by a car, can my rhodes be saved?

I feel pretty confident I have the tools and skills to repair it, I have a 4
ton rolling U frame hoist that I bought to lift a 26' sailboat to replace
the keel, It should have no problem lifting the Rhodes. As I speak to more
people about the insurance, I feel increasingly I will get very little money
for the boat, it will be totaled, and I may not be able to buy it back as
salvage.

So, I have started considering my other options, I could sell the very nice
dual-axle aluminum trailer it is on, with all new springs, hangers, rotors,
brakes, etc. Take whatever pittance the insurer's give me, and buy some
other inexpensive sailboat for the next few years I can take my wife and two
young children sailing with this summer.

There is a 74 Oday 22 with a trailer in apparently good shape for $2100 on
craigslist. Any one have experience with the Oday 22?

Really I want my children to experience life on the water, away from TV,
video games, and the like. To do an occasional overnighter. The kids are
little, 3 and almost 6, so we don't currently need a large boat.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Alex
