[Rhodes22-list] Anyone careened their Rhodes 22?

The problem could be a foreign object(s) i.e. seaweed, sand etc. 
between the center board (CB) and trunk walls. Be sure to check the CB 
lift line.  It depends on your CB system. If you have a pulley system 
the rope can get jammed. It can happen if the line was allowed to hang 
loose when the CB was down. When the CB was retracted the rope remained 
jammed or even became "more" jammed not allowing the CB to drop. The 
small plastic wheel on the pully broke on my system allowing the rope 
to jam between the broken wheel & casing.  Unfortunately, this required 
removal of the CB trunk cap.  I converted my CB to direct pull.  The 
connection with the flex tube from the top of the CB to the entry into 
the cockpit is important. Be sure the flex tube, clamps and both 
adopters are in good condition to avoid leaks and future unwanted water 
problems. Jim J.
