Yes, I obviously had the pictures mixed up here.  Your system looks fine.  John's (then) is a little uneasy looking.  I have consulted several old salts, and believe that I will just jack the boat off the trailer about eight or ten inches, slide in some 2 X 6 planks for support, paint under the bunks, let it dry and drop her back on the bunks again.  Thanks to everyone for the advice.
