[Rhodes22-list] Yamaha Outboard is overcharging battery

Our Yamaha 8 also sometimes puts out more voltage (>15 volts) then
needed to keep the battery charged. I solved the problem by putting
an on/off switch in line and disconnecting the battery from the motor
when the motor is running. I also sometimes just turn on cabin lights
when motoring they draw enough current to lower the charge rate to
under 14 volts that seems to help. Both the motor and AGM battery are
over three years old and seem to be in good shape.
