[Rhodes22-list] A leak, MARY LOU

Hi Mary Lou:

The leak seems to be on the carpet that's on that port side bulkhead behind the seat cushions.  It's below the aft most of the ports on that side  (about 8-10" below the port) Thinking (just now) I wonder if the water is due to a leak in the port, and the result of rain.  I had a similar situation on the starboard ports above the cabinet/sink.  I sealed those ports, and the leak vanished.  My boat os an '87, so some cracks may have developed between the outside bulkhead and the port, and may only have been noticeable when the cushions fell down from a series of hard heels.  I'll look into this, too.  Thanks

Joe

HI Joe,
I'm assuming that you mean the carpet behind the bench seat in the
cabin. Where precisely was the dampness? We haven't had a rubrail
leak but when our fixed ports above the seat have leaked we've had
dampness there. Somewhere in the archives is some commentary on a rubrail fix.

I found this one - there may be more:
