Subject: Re: [Rhodes22-list] boat weight / Lift Size / Trailer Bunks

I put in a 10k lift. The additional lifting power isn't to handle my R22 or with any expectation of acquiring a larger boat, but in the interest of the resale value of my house in some future decade. Very future, I hope!

Aeolia, my gorgeous new R22, arrived Wednesday and I couldn't be happier. More on that in a later message.

But here's the point: I was expecting to simply adjust the lift bunks for the R22, but it quickly became clear that wouldn't work. Since I also bought the Triad trailer made expressly for the R22, my lift installer was able to see the bunk configuration needed. He made measurements of the trailer bunks so that Rick Massell at Deco Boat Lifts can construct something expressly for the R22. I've emailed Rick photos, both of the trailer and of Aeolia on it.

(I'm sending the list some photos in a second message with this subject line.)

No, I haven't dared ask what this will cost. Worse, it also "quickly became clear" that my dock + lift configuration isn't well-suited to briefly docking the boat--as, for example, when the crew forgot the rum.

It's pitch dark now, I can't see Aeolia, but she's still a joy. I want to send profound & abundant

THANX! to all the Rhodies who inspired me to join them. (You know who you are!!)

Peter
