Thanks Rob,
The winter boat project I invested in has no interior. All seems to be
there for the exterior except the traveler? I have the SS mast step bracket
in a bag in the cabin. I will take some picture to send and keep some
pictures as I progress as well. Thanks for the excellent pictures they give
me great ideas to plan with before I get too far along.

Dennis,
You have no mast step (the metal fitting on the cabin top) or no compression
post? Hard to step the mast without a bracket to set it in. I suppose you
could support the mast on a piece of plywood temporarily. If it's the
compression post, a 4X4 would suffice temporarily. Pictures, man, pictures!

While this great discussion is underway may I ask? If your boat had no mast
step or method of stepping the mast how would you plan an prepare to step
the mast? I may get a chance to put the boat in the water and rig it prior
to winter if I can get the framing and bulkhead installed. I'm a little
anxious to float prior to tenting and taking the hull down, removing all the
hardware and repairing and painting.
