[Rhodes22-list] Launched Ozone Ouch!

Ron,

If you're referring to the throttle arm I had the same problem. I tried
tightening it several times but it kept coming loose. I eventually just
tied a line around it. Doesn't look too good but it works. I tied the
motor to the boat which looks even worse. I can't imagine the motor falling
off and if it did I'm not sure the line would help that much.

As for doing stupid things on boats I could write a book. Once I thought my
mainsail furler was broken until I discovered I was standing on the outhaul
line.

When I first got my boat I thought sailing it was much easier and less scary
than trying to get the thing in and out of its slip. The bigger the boat
the worse it is. It's fun to watch some of the yachts at my marina try to
get their tankers back into their slips. You don't see them doing it
singlehandedly.

I recommend drinking more. The more you drink the more mistakes you'll make
and the more you'll learn from your mistakes.

Good luck!

I understand this to be correct, now. I will take care of the situation
when I visit Ozone next time. I'm glad no one was there to watch. I felt
real stupid. I guess I won't be the last guy to run aground. I did had the
marina move me to a slip that is not so tight in which to maneuver. Very
little room for Ozone to get in. The folks in the marina are some of the
nicest I have every met. The managers and staff are fantastic. Best
customer service I have seen in a long time.

I posted some photos of the launch day on Flicker. I really had a good time
out on the lake. My family really loves Ozone. My daughter has downs
syndrome and she simply loves being out on the boat. Our standard poodle
really seemed relaxed as well. Her first time on a boat.
