[Rhodes22-list] Trailer Position

My boat sits on the trailer and the bunks do deflect the hull and I also do not like it.  But it does not seem to hurt anything and I have trailered many many miles without problems.  Someone on this list said that the roller should be adjusted up about 1/2" when the boat is off the trailer so that there is a little bit of weight supported by the keel on the roller.  Sounds like a good idea and I may try this however my boat has a dent in the bottom of the keel where the roller was supporting more weight with my previous trailer (a real POS).  So I'm not sure how good of an idea this is but may try it and see. As for the bow stop, the boat needs to be pulled all the way up to the bow when it is driven onto the trailer and the strap should be tighted.  When the trailer & boat are pulled out of the water the boat will pull back away from the bow stop.  I found tha 5-6 inches away from the bow stop is ideal but of course that is specific to each trailer and boat and how they are balanced.BK
