Re beckson flexibility...  

Graham,
Just to clarify, the becksons as normally installed are not flexible at
all....only the trim ring (which is normally inside.. Basically cosmetic) is
flexible.  Thus the backwards installation is the only way it works.  The
inside does not flex with the curves of the cabin, but I don't really care..
Just used some wedges to tighten everything.
Then the hard sleeve extends at varying amounts on the outside, which I
trimmed to the same thickness as the trim ring following the contours of the
boat.  Then the trim ring can easily be flexed to the contours.
All is sealed well with a sealant from beckson, and has worked great.
