Having just resealed my 1984 R22 and replaced the rub-rail, I would not
recommend it. I'm not sure why you would want to do this anyway?

I effectively made my hull to deck joint bomb (and leak) proof by removing
the old rub rail and squirting 3m 5200 into the joint and pop-riveting the
rail, hull and deck in one action. I did this in about all the way round
the boat in 10' sections.

Not sure why you want to redo the fwd foam??
