Hey Gary,
Glad you are enjoying the stories. Alice did most of the writing. Great questions on provisions. In the Baha, though we had only a couple of long sails, for us it was still up to a week or more between provisioning. A lot of our anchorages were totally uninhabited. The last time we sailed to the Bahamas we provisioned for 30 days for food for two people. Water was the problem as it is hard to come by in most islands. The crossing was only 80 miles, just an overnighter. We landed in Bimini and got a bit of ice but for most of the 2 months we did not have ice or fresh meat and veggies, way too expensive and hard to keep. It is quite possible to provision for several weeks for several people on a Rhodes.

Keep in mind your diet will not be the same as at home, not going to happen. Too often people rule out a grand adventure because the conveniences of home are not available. We had lots of canned foods, mostly meats and veggies. Pasta, rice, and assorted dried foods. The food was stored in four under-bed plastic Rubbermaid containers stored on top of the cushions. More food was in several containers under the cushions of the v-berth and other locations.

By all means don,t let small things like provisioning put you off from the potential of really cruising on your Rhodes. I will be writing a section on storage and provisioning, uh sometime (grin). I will include lots of pictures. I did a pretty good write up on a previous trip to Baha. It contains several lists and descriptions. Email me at chrisgeankoplis @gmail.com if you would like the links for all my trips on the Rhodes. Also you or your wife can email Alice who was the one who figured provisioning and storage aboard the boat.

Keep in touch, the adventure continues. In a couple of weeks we head south along the coast of W. Florida to Pts south and east.
