One thing that was mentioned is using Facebook to attract a younger crowd.
With the Facebook group, it accepts posts by sending emails to it, i'll  have to check, but I believe that format is (username)@facebook.Com.
If we could find out who the owner of the group is and make sure that subscribing the group to the list is ok.
I'm not certain how posts would be passed back to the mail list though, probably have to be done manually.
